Central Coast Kayaks has staff and contract instructors who are ACA trained in many areas including kayak fishing, navigation, multi-day excursion training, and instructor development. This introductory course for sit-on-top (open deck) kayaks is a recreation-based course and introduces students to basic paddling strokes, solo and assisted rescues, launching and landing, and general kayaking technique and safety on the protected waters along our beautiful coastline. If you are looking for a fun place to start your paddling career or just want to see what sit-on-top kayaking is about, this class is for you. Includes all paddling equipment.
Standup paddleboarding or SUP is one of the fastest growing sports in the nation and for good reason. SUP is a wonderful way to get out on the water, is acceptable for all skill levels and ages, and is great exercise too. All while having fun! If you have wanted to try SUP but weren’t sure where to start, our introductory class is perfect. This is a really fun course to take with a group of friends. Our instructors will teach you basic paddling techniques, on the water safety, and will get you on your way towards your new found paddling addiction, SUP! All paddling equipment is included.

Reservations are required for all Tours and Classes. Full payment is required at the time of booking. If you need to cancel we will issue a full refund up to 7 days before your scheduled reservation. There are NO REFUNDS for cancellations LESS THAN 7 DAYS before your booking or for “no shows”. Central Coast Kayaks reserves the right to cancel a Tour or Class based on poor/unsafe weather conditions. In this event, Central Coast Kayaks will contact you as soon as possible and issue a FULL REFUND or offer to RESCHEDULE your booking.
Light rain or heavy fog will not always cancel your Tour or Class, as long as conditions remain calm and safe.
The morning is the ideal time to get on the water, before the wind comes up. Paddling early will maximize your time and experience on the water providing the best conditions and offering better opportunities for viewing wildlife. When booking a tour or rental consider paddling before noon.
